Hume-Bennett Lumber Company

Here is my blog for Hume-Bennett Lumber Company. Hume California is located in King Canyon National Forest (Monument). For those who may not know Hume Lake Dam was created for logging. In the day the world’s largest flume ran from the dam to Sanger, CA. It was about 57 miles.

I just returned from a trip to Kings Canyon, and am really curious to see what the area looked like way back when. The cable system they had from haulling logs out and running the trams amaze me. I want to see images on that. Great photos of old Boole tree and Chicago stump.

I just read your blog and am grateful to find it. Our family has visited about 50 of the groves and Converse is one of our favorites- because of the history behind it
Thanks for sharing your incredible insight about the history of Sequoias and the Hume Lake area
